CraftCue frequently asked questions
Last updated: October 3, 2026
What does CraftCue do?
CraftCue turns Shopify order line items into a focused production queue. It checks payment and the personalization details your team requires, separates work that needs attention, and tracks each item through production.
Which businesses is CraftCue for?
CraftCue is designed for made-to-order businesses such as embroidery, engraving, printing, custom apparel, and personalized gifts. It is not a visual product designer, inventory system, or manufacturing ERP.
How do I collect personalization from customers?
Create a production setup, add the customer fields you need, assign products, and save and publish the setup. Then enable the CraftCue app embed in your Shopify theme. See the setup guide for the complete launch checklist.
What makes an item Ready?
An item is Ready when its order meets the payment rule (fully paid, or pending COD permitted by the merchant's production policy) and every required production detail has a valid value. Otherwise, CraftCue marks it Needs attention and shows the reason.
Can I correct missing or inaccurate details?
Yes. Open the production item and enter the corrected values. CraftCue keeps the original Shopify order values alongside your corrections and records the change in the item history.
Can CraftCue stop incomplete personalization at checkout?
Yes. After publishing your fields, enable checkout validation from the launch checklist. Keep the Needs attention queue as a safety net for older orders and other exceptions.
Can I use CraftCue with another product-options app?
Yes. CraftCue can coexist with another product-options app when each app collects different information. Avoid using the same property name in both apps, and place one complete test order before accepting live orders. Features that change price, add bundled products, or control quantity can require additional compatibility testing.
How do orders stay up to date?
CraftCue listens for Shopify order changes. You can also select Sync orders from the dashboard. If a synchronization warning appears, retry the sync; existing production work is preserved when a sync fails.
Can my team track production progress?
Yes. Items move through Queued, In production, and Completed. You can also mark rush work, add internal notes, update several items together, print job sheets, and export the current view as CSV.
Does CraftCue offer notifications?
You can enable one daily email digest for active Needs attention items from Settings. CraftCue sends nothing when there are no matching items.
What happens when I uninstall CraftCue?
CraftCue removes access immediately but temporarily preserves your production queue, setups, and uploads so an accidental uninstall can be recovered by reinstalling before Shopify sends its shop-redaction request, normally 48 hours later. That request permanently deletes the remaining data. You can also download and restore a complete backup from Settings. For more information, read the privacy policy.
