Set up CraftCue

Last updated: October 3, 2026

Complete these steps before using CraftCue with live personalized orders. The launch checklist in the app shows your progress.

1. Approve product access

Open Production setup in CraftCue and approve the requested product access if prompted. CraftCue needs this access to assign products and publish its customer-field configuration.

2. Create a production setup

Start with a template or create a custom setup. Add each detail your production team needs, such as engraving text, thread color, font, or a reference file. Give every field a clear customer-facing label and configure its options and limits.

3. Assign products and publish

Choose the Shopify products that use the setup, then select Save and publish. Republish after changing fields so the storefront and production checks use the same configuration.

4. Enable CraftCue in your theme

Select Open theme settings. In Shopify’s theme editor, enable the CraftCue app embed and select Save. The embed places the published fields above the buy buttons on assigned product pages.

If customers need to edit personalization on the cart page, add the CraftCue cart editor app block to the cart template. Cart drawers are not supported in the current release.

5. Enable checkout validation

Return to the CraftCue dashboard and select Enable checkout validation in the launch checklist. This helps prevent checkout when required personalization is missing.

6. Place and verify a test order

  1. Open an assigned product in your storefront.
  2. Enter every required personalization value.
  3. Add the item to the cart and complete a paid test order.
  4. Open CraftCue and select Sync orders if the order is not visible yet.
  5. Confirm the item is marked Ready and its details are correct.
  6. Select Confirm classification is correct in the launch checklist.

Daily use

Start with Needs attention, correct missing details, and move Ready items from Queued to In production and Completed. Use Sync orders if a Shopify change has not appeared, and configure the optional daily digest in Settings.
